On May 29, 2020, at 10:00 AM, Ms. Peng Xiaoxiao, Secretary-General of the Chengdu Talent Development Association, visited SBK for a work-related meeting. Dr. Cen Guodong, President of SBK and a Distinguished Expert under both Sichuan’s “Thousand Talents Plan” and Chengdu’s “Rong Piao Plan”, along with department heads, warmly welcomed the delegation.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Peng shared the latest policies from the Chengdu Talent Development Association and inquired about the challenges and needs SBK has faced in its development.

Secretary-General Peng highlighted that Chengdu is home to over 800 experts participating in various talent programs, and she emphasized the importance of strengthening connections and fostering collaborations to drive industry growth. She also introduced a range of talent services offered by the Association, including medical services through West China Hospital, physical exams at tier-3 hospitals, housing support, and a new “Boss Mentorship Program” aimed at nurturing talent. She encouraged SBK’s experts to actively participate in these initiatives.

During the meeting, Dr. Cen presented an overview of SBK’s background, his own professional achievements, the expert advisory team, R&D accomplishments, and the company’s development plans for 2020-2023. Secretary-General Peng Xiaoxiao expressed strong endorsement for the company’s progress.

Dr. Cen emphasized that despite facing challenges like talent and resource shortages since its inception, these constraints have only strengthened SBK’s resolve and fostered a culture of perseverance and innovation. SBK follows a research model that “Integrates innovation resources for shared success”, bringing together diverse resources to generate exceptional value even under limited conditions. This approach not only benefits the company but also drives broader progress in the biopharmaceutical industry.

After the discussion, Secretary-General Peng toured our R&D facilities, praising our ability to sustain innovation despite resource limitations. She encouraged SBK to join the Association to enhance professional networking and immediately began working on solutions to support our active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing challenges—demonstrating a proactive and responsive approach to governance.
